A potential way to reduce the noise generated by construction machinery cooling systems is satisfy flow rate required for at lower fan speeds, and a promising approach achieving this goal involves finding ways pressure drop that occurs in system ventilation passages. Towards end, approaches using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) have proven effective estimating three-dimensional (3D) spatial drops, but there been few reports on actual loss mechanisms. In study, mechanisms of drops occur inside enclosure around exhaust port vents were investigated capturing discharged axial within into atmosphere via port. We found portions outlet divert significantly are exhausted outlets located some distance away from fan. also such locations larger than experienced shortest path. Since flows collide with each other become unsettled port, turbulent kinetic energy increases, thus intensifying drop. Hence, expelling path without allowing it mix chaotically enclosure, can be increased same speed.
